Guided Visualisations
We use guided imaging to harness the positive power of children’s imaginations and find them to
be very effective.
In just the same way as their imagination can create frightening images and
feelings, it can also be used to create reassuring, soothing or protective ones that will "watch
over" them when they are sleeping or at times of anxiety. This can help with sleep problems, worries
and fears, loss of loved person or pet and many other situations.
Guided visualisations can be created specifically for your child and their circumstances and can
include their favourite characters from fairy tales, film or TV.
Personalised visualisations are
provided in written form with full instructions so you can guide your child through them at bedtime
in place of or after a story, ensuring these positive images become a regular part of their
night-time routine. See Positive Bedtimes for details.
