Colour Therapy
In our world we are surrounded by colour all the time and an understanding of how different
colours affect children’s mood and behaviour can be very helpful. Together, Sue and Jill have
created Astrocolour™, which combines Astrology and Colour Therapy. This enables recommendations
to be made for children which can help to balance an excess or a lack of a particular type of
energy, as shown by their individual birth chart.
The colours around us, including what we wear, affect the nervous system and the release of
hormones, which in turn affect our mental, emotional and physical state. Giving a child the choice
of which colour to paint their bedroom is usually greeted with great enthusiasm.
However, allowing
a teenager to paint their walls black, for example, is unlikely to encourage them to adopt a
light-hearted and co-operative mood, as black represents negativity and is not used at all in colour
therapy.
Pastel blue colours are particularly good for the bedrooms of young children. Blue has a calming
and relaxing effect and aids sleep. Needless to say, red carpets are a definite 'no-no' for any
age of child, the colour red is very stimulating and will make it very difficult for them to "switch
off".
At Marchants House we have also developed the Childlight "Colour Flames" which can be used to
help children of any age. The colours are chosen specifically to help with the issue or problem the
child is facing and can be printed out or viewed on the screen. The current Colour Flame can be
viewed here.
If you would like an individual Childlight Colour Flame to be created for your child, "Ask the
Experts".
